About me
I am co-coordinator of the Design Construct Program within the School of Art Architecture and Design. This is an experiential learning program which teaches students through the design and construction of real projects in remote or underserved communities.
I have a background in practice, including volunteer work with Emergency Architects working on post tsunami reconstruction in Indonesia. I co-founded a design-construct company in Australia before working as an architect and builder in Sweden and the Netherlands.
I am currently coordinating a range of student design construct projects including Aboriginal rangers housing in the Northern Territory and Finders Ranges, remote eco accommodation in Vanuatu, and transportable studio and service pods for remote fieldwork.
My research interests include the development of design-build as an educational process, particularly in the understanding and flexibility design students gain from practice based learning experiences and the personal and wider industry benefits of this.
