Julie holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in both Education (Adelaide and Flinders) and Theology (Flinders and the Catholic University of Leuven). Early in her career, she graduated from the Institute for Spirituality and Worship (ISW) Program at the Jesuit School of Theology, Berkeley California. Her PhD (supervisor: Professor Denis Edwards), awarded by the Australian Catholic University, included a year of research as a visiting scholar at the Cardinal Walter Kasper Institute for Theology, Ecumenism and Spirituality at the Philosophisch-Theologische Hochschule, Vallendar Germany. More recently Julie completed a Graduate Diploma in Spiritual Direction (ACU/Jesuit College of Spirituality). She is currently in training as a Spiritual Director with the Arrupe Program.
