About me
Thanks for coming to Kate’s home page. Kate has been a lecturer at UNI SA since 2015 lecturing into the Medical Imaging space, but particularly into the Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography space. Kate has been course coordinating for both level 1 and level 2 medical sonography courses as well as lecturing in the Medical Imaging undergraduate programs, with a particular interest in medical law and ethics for allied health professionals.
Prior to joining UNI SA Kate was an examiner into the sonography program for a number of yearsKate has been a sonographer for over 25 years – her career has included roles within both private and public imaging departments in metropolitan and rural settings. She has also experienced working in corporate roles in both national and international locations.
She currently shares her time between her academic and clinical roles.
Kate has a passion for teaching, and believes keeping her clinical skills honed will help her with her teaching role at UNI SA.
Kate was elected to the board of the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry in 2016. She has acted as Director and Treasurer on this board for that time. She is also involved with the Australian Sonographer Association as a member of the Sonographer Policy Advisory Committee.
When Kate is not working, she is watching sport, particularly her favourite AFL team or trying to control two very happy and boisterous corgis.
