About me
Hello and welcome to my homepage. I have been employed at UniSA since 1998. I am a teaching-focussed Lecturer, the Lead Academic Integrity Officer and Teaching Squares Facilitator in UniSA STEM.
I have designed, developed, coordinated and taught a number of courses across two Academic Units within the University, in various modes, at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, and across numerous local and international institutions. I have significant experience in teaching large first year courses where I manage a team of staff and provide leadership and direction to the team in order to deliver a consistent, quality, engaging and transformative learning experience to students. I have also recently completed my Professional Certificate in University Teaching at UniSA.
I am passionate about developing supportive and inclusive learning environments and supporting students in their first year or transition to UniSA, at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. I believe in creating and fostering a positive student learning culture and I was one of the inaugural course coordinators to work with staff and past high achieving students to pilot and implement the Peer Assisted Study Program (PASS) in first year IT courses. This internationally recognised program has subsequently been extended to support students across multiple STEM Programs.
I am engaged in various activities contributing to the creation of the new Adelaide University, including the development of new courses, being a member of the AU IT Service Management (ITSM) Stakeholder Working Group, the AU Academic Integrity Working Group, and the Curriculum Quality Panel (CQP) as a UniSA panel member for IT Programs.
I am a member of a range of professional bodies including Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA), Australasian Society for Computers in Learning in Tertiary Education (ASCILITE), and the Australian Computer Society (ACS). I am also a member of Higher Education Research Group Adelaide (HERGA) and the UniSA Higher Education Research Network (HERN), whilst also promoting HERN within my Academic Unit as a STEM HERN co-sponsor.
I am also a co-investigator in a UniSA Unstoppable Teaching and Learning Development Grant (2025-2026) for a project titled Ethical Professionalism: A Values Focus, that aims to progress the development of a value sensitive design-based learning tool to improve ethical professionalism and data literacy among students.
