Katja joined the School of Health Sciences at UniSA as Course Coordinator for Sociology of Health, Physical Activity and Sport. Prior to commencing this role she held a senior researcher position at the Medical School Hamburg in Germany. Her primary research focus is on the prevention on non-communicable diseases through physical activity interventions in the Pacific Islands. She has ten years experience in designing, implementing and evaluating physical activity interventions in various settings, including workplaces and disadvantaged communities. She co-founded the Journal of Sport for Development and is experienced in working within the UN-system.
