Dr Khoi Nguyen completed his PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of South Australia in 2017. The dissertation title is: ‘Critical state behaviour of granular materials and associated micro-mechanics: A DEM study’, which involves in both advanced laboratory testing regime and discrete element model (DEM) of granular materials. He has developed strong understanding and research capacity in geotechnical and earthquake engineering issues, and numerical modelling. After his PhD, he worked as research associate and teaching academic in different civil engineering disciplines, including soil mechanics, geotechnical and earthquake engineering.
