About me
I am an online course facilitator for the Bachelor of Communication and have responsibility for leading the development and delivery of online teaching for UniSA Online students. My role involves working closely with divisional staff at UniSA to provide high-quality online teaching to undergraduate students, and to coordinate the day-to-day activities of online tutoring staff.
Since 2009, I have been a lecturer and course coordinator at tertiary institutions in Adelaide, Melbourne and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Committed to student-centred learning, in 2015 I was a finalist in the Student Choice Excellent Teacher Awards for the UniSA Division of EASS and directed an industry award-winning project in 2012 which encouraged students from two Australian universities to actively engage in volunteer work and international aid. I have taught online post-graduates courses, coordinated large first year courses and most recently led the management of the capstone internship and project course at UniSA in the School of Communication, International Studies and Languages.
Previously a communication manager for the Federal Government, I bring to my teaching over a decade of practitioner experience. I have been an active member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia, having served as an elected state councillor for a number of years. My PhD research explores the changing communication needs of academics in work-integrated learning. Other research interests include social media management and change management. I am excited to be an Online Course Facilitator in Communication, bringing a commitment to high quality teaching to the role.

I am passionate about teaching strong strategic and technical skills in the writing, planning and delivery of communication initiatives.I bring to my teaching, my own professional experience across all broad key outcomes of the Australian Government's migration program. I have managed large teams to achieve goals integral to skilled migration whilst effectively liaising with a vast range of stakeholders from industry, government and the non-profit sector. I have also coordinated key initiatives for the Australian Government which included Harmony Day and Australian Citizenship Day. My postgraduate research has also influenced my drive for excellence in teaching, including an OLT grant, for the Augmenting students’ post-practicum experiences project. My PhD research has focused on communication practices with stakeholder engagement.
