Kirstie Howland

Kirstie is a Lecturer in nursing within Clinical & Health Sciences at UniSA. She has been teaching into the Bachelor of Nursing program since 2022. Kirstie has vast experience teaching into pre-registration nursing programs at the University of Adelaide since 2006. Teaching roles have included supporting both clinical and simulation education, alongside placement experiences of pre-registration nursing students

Having worked as a Clinical Nurse in the public sector predominantly in the medical and geriatric specialty since 1997, Kirstie brings a wealth of clinical experience to her academic role. Other clinical experience in Emergency, hyperbaric and infection control add to her wealth of knowledge.  Kirstie has postgraduate qualifications in Medical Nursing and is a PhD student at UniSA.  Kirstie enjoys supporting the education of the next generation of nursing clinicians and is passionate about ensuring they graduate prepared for a successful career. Her research interest focuses on the preparation of pre-registration nursing students for graduation, specifically focusing on capability development.
