About me
Kuan is currently the portfolio manager of several projects to improve the quality and capacity of clinical education. His portfolio includes: Health Workforce Australia Clinical Training Funding project, to improve the clinical training capacity of UniSA's health partners Health Workforce Australia Simulated Learning Environments project, to improve clinical education through simulated activities. The Increased Clinical Training Capacity project, a collaboration between UniSA and Helping Hand Aged Care Inc to increase clinical training capacity in the aged care environment. The combined value of the projects is approximately $6.7 mil. Kuan has a background in Computer Systems Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Project Management. Upon completion of his Masters programme in the University of Science Malaysia, he served as a consultant for 2 years in a reputable company, providing high level advice to training institutions. During his tenure, he helped to set up ISO 9001-certified business and information processes for the Vision Institute of Malaysia. He has also led the development of several well-received training programmes for that institute. Having moved to Australia and due to his keen interest in education, he formerly worked as an Online Adviser as well as an Instructional Designer at UniSA, to further develop and improve the university's online learning and teaching strategies. He currently holds a PhD in Information Systems. His research interest is in promoting the effective use of ICT in society and organisations, with the primary focus on systems support for collaboration.
