Kyle obtained a BSc with Chemistry and Biology majors from the University of South Australia in 2016. Whilst completing his undergraduate degree, Kyle undertook a vacation research project within the Applied Chemistry and Translational Biomaterials (ACTB) Group under Dr. Blencowe’s supervision. This resulted in the development of a novel thermoresponsive hydrogel formulation and sparked Kyle’s interest in applied chemistry research. Kyle then completed a Biomedical Research honours program within the group and was awarded First Class Honours, with his thesis focusing on the development of injectable thermoresponsive hydrogels for use in adoptive cell therapies. Kyle then completed a Biomedical Research honours program within the group and was awarded First Class Honours, with his thesis focusing on the development of injectable thermoresponsive hydrogels for use in adoptive cell therapies. In 2018, Kyle began his PhD within the ACTB group, beginning a new project that focuses on reducing the impact of invasive predators upon native Australian animals, through the development of an innovative population-protecting poison implant. Outside of research, Kyle has undertaken teaching roles in a range of undergraduate chemistry courses, including Chemistry 100/101 and Advanced/Structure Determination and Analysis.
