About me
I am incredibly proud to be teaching at the University of South Australia this year, having recently moved from Sydney to Adelaide and embraced this “Big Country Town.”
My background spans extensive experience as a Clinical Nurse and Nurse Educator, particularly in Anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing. Over the years, I have developed a strong commitment to educating within the contractual and compliance requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework. I also hold a high regard for ongoing professional development, maintaining effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse cohorts of students, patients, and colleagues alike.
My academic journey includes a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Technology, Sydney, a Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing from the Australian College of Nursing, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Teaching & Nursing from the University of Tasmania—where I focused on adult education, simulation, and teaching in healthcare settings. Furthering my leadership capabilities, I completed a Master’s degree (articulated) concentrating on Nursing Leadership, Research, and Practice Change.
I also spent time at Macquarie University pursuing a Bachelor of Chiropractic Medicine, with a year devoted to Human Anatomy.
Alongside my professional practice, I have served as a Sessional Academic at Western Sydney University and as a Trainer and Educator at Australian Catholic University, marking and facilitating clinical tutorials and simulations while providing reflective feedback.
Moving to Adelaide has opened new doors: it has allowed me to join the University of South Australia and continue my passion for advancing nursing education. I pride myself on my ability to adapt quickly, remain aware of my own limitations, and continuously challenge them.
Beyond the classroom and operating suite, I am currently training for a half marathon, enjoy exploring artificial intelligence, and run a small YouTube channel as a personal hobby. Having recently been married to a fellow nurse, my partner and I are embracing life in Adelaide, excited about the opportunities that lie ahead in our shared commitment to healthcare, education, and excellence in patient care.
If you see me on campus, please don't hesitate to say hello!
