I work as a tutor for courses in various Psychology programs, and am committed to student learning and growth within their individual programs. My extensive background in human resources adds a workplace, career development, and human services perspective to my work.
My area of special interest is in social psychology fields that uncover the socio-structural bases of human suffering, particularly the link between social inequalities and human rights abuses, conflict, and violence. This interest has resulted in me becoming the state coordinator of Psychology Australia's interest group Psychologists for Peace, as well as the state coordinator of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom in South Australia.

I focussed on issues of gender justice for my postgraduate research. My Honours thesis explored gender in politics, including research examining the relationship between sexist stereotypes of women as ‘warm but incompetent’ and public attitudes towards our first female Prime Minister. My PhD thesis built on both my interest in gender inequality and personal experience, by researching the inheritance experiences of farmers’ daughters. Findings from this exploratory research also featured gender stereotypes, as well as status hierarchies, power, and ideology, as contributing to gender injustice in farming families.
