My current research focusses on resolving the organic carbon storage pathways of enhanced rock weathering processes in high-value orchards. This project is investigating how the application of basalt rock as a soil amendment works to aid the removal of atmospheric carbon dioxide and help store it within agricultural soils, while improving overall soil health and productivity.

About me
My current research focusses on resolving the organic carbon storage pathways of enhanced rock weathering processes in high-value orchards. This project is investigating how the application of basalt rock as a soil amendment works to aid the removal of atmospheric carbon dioxide and help store it within agricultural soils, while improving overall soil health and productivity.
I was awarded my PhD from the University of South Australia in 2020 for my work on the palaeoecology and palaeoenvironments of the Ediacara biota. These fossils represent some of the oldest multicellular life on Earth, and my work to reconstruct these past environments has employed a range of methodologies including sedimentology, facies analysis, sequence stratigraphy and detrital zircon geochronology.
I am currently co-supervising a Masters project that seeks to integrate palaeontology and Adnyamathanha Aboriginal knowledge in the Flinders Ranges, to better understand how we interpret geological and landscape processes.
