About me
Dr. Linda Shi is a researcher, lecturer and tutor at UniSA to support the water industry for training the next generation of water professionals. She has a vision of bringing good water supply and services to the regional areas using her expertise in areas of online water quality monitoring, water and wastewater treatment process control and optimisation. The projects she worked on including wastewater treatment optimisation, expansion options of community wastewater treatment plants, transforming energy productivity in the water value chain, online water quality montoring and water treatment process control.
Dr. Linda Shi’s PhD project was on the investigation of using water “fingerprint” to optimise and control water treatment processes in real time. The study improved the reliability and acceptability of online UV-Vis sensors for real-time water quality monitoring. The project also developed and produced models using machine learning for decision support of water treatment process control. Linda is currently also a water infrastructure officer at the Office of the Technical Regulator, Department of Energy and Mining, South Australian government.
She has a good publication record in the field of online water quality monitoring and won several water and non-water awards.
