Dr Lyn Gum has worked as a clinical nurse and midwife for over 30 years, including 14 years as a rural nurse/midwife. Her PhD (Flinders University, 2017) explored interprofessional education and collaborative practice in rural settings in South Australia. Lyn's academic teaching interests have spanned across postgraduate Masters degrees and undergraduate degree teaching in the fields of clinical education, medical, midwifery and nursing education.

Lyn's academic teaching interests have spanned across postgraduate Masters degrees and undergraduate degree teaching in the fields of clinical education, medical, midwifery and nursing education.
Lyn is currently Program Coordinator: Bachelor of Nursing (Theory courses) and advocates for supportive learning environments that are engaging and respectful to all students. Lyn’s current scholarly interests include interprofessional learning, online learning, global student peer-to-peer engagement, rural workforce/health care, simulation learning and debriefing, communities of practice, collaborative practice and teamwork, qualitative research, and patient safety.
Lyn is an Australian representative with Interprofessional.Global, whose mission is to serve as agents of change in providing global leadership for interprofessional education and collaborative practice, and an inaugural member of the Policy working party now known as the Global Impact working group. Additionally, Lyn also serves as an active member and contributor to the Australasian Interprofessional Practice and Education Network (AIPPEN).
