Madeline Edwards is an Arts educator and lecturer at the University of South Australia. A graduate of Adelaide College of the Arts and UniSA, she has worked internationally as a dance artist, choreographer, rehearsal director and teacher. She has extensive experience working in schools, universities and dance institutions, working closely with a range of professional associations and communities, including the Australian Institute of Classical Dance and Dance Hub SA. She has extensive experience working in schools, universities and dance institutions, working closely with a range of professional associations and communities, including the Australian Institute of Classical Dance and Dance Hub SA. Madeline's research interests include demystifying and mobilising the creative process, prioritising creativity in the curriculum, arts assessment archaeology, and developing student-centred dance pedagogies for the 21st century. In her work with pre-service teachers, dance curriculum faculties and studio teachers, she implements embodied pedagogies to promote reflective critical thinking and advocates for quality education in the arts through engaging learning design.
