About me
Maheshi is a Lecturer in Construction Project Management with a strong academic background and significant industry experience. Her doctoral research focused on enhancing supply chain resilience in offsite construction projects, culminating in the development of a procurement-driven resilience framework. Maheshi holds a First-Class Honours degree in Quantity Surveying from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka- one of only two overseas Quantity Surveying degrees accredited by the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS). She has secured Dean’s List award for all eight semesters, excelling in subjects including Building Design and Construction, Measurement, Project Panning and Management,Modern Procurment Systems and Contract Interpretation.
In industry, Maheshi worked on high-profile construction projects in the UAE, including the Dubai Creek Harbour development projects amounting to USD 217 million and USD 85 million. Her responsibilities included cost planning, contract administration, subcontractor payments, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She successfully delivered cost efficiencies through careful analysis and contract management, drawing on her expertise in quantity surveying and tools like CostX. Maheshi maintains strong ties to the construction sector through active engagement with PrefabAUS, the Lean Construction Institute Australia (LCIA), the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
With a commitment to applied research and a passion for teaching, Maheshi integrates her academic insights and real-world experience to prepare students for careers in the built environment and support innovation in construction project management.
