About me
Marc is a strategic and innovative academic leader with a history of implementing change programmes. He is recognised in Australia by conceptualising and executing Victoria University’s ‘The Block Mode’—the first of its kind in Australia. The Block Mode pedagogy revolutionises the way 21st century undergraduate students undertake their studies and brings to fruition sophisticated curricula (face to face, online and the Cloud) with innovative research frameworks and teaching. He has held various senior academic leadership, teaching and research roles across public universities and private higher education institutions in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, France, Taiwan, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Papa New Guinea. In these teaching leadership and management roles, Marc has led change programmes that (i) developed innovative curriculum in the areas of governance, board leadership, business and management (ii) design and introduce new initiative teaching programmes; (iii) bring programme and teaching staff budgets under control; (iv) redesign curricula to increase student retention, success and wellbeing; (v) boost teaching staff morale; and (vi) act as an inclusive, creative learning environments for face-to-face, online and cloud teaching platforms.
As an arts governance, and leadership expert. Marc has expertise in Australian, European and U.S. arts board configurations. He has taught arts governance and leadership in France, Australia and Taiwan, presenting at conferences and events. Hence, Marc brings to UniSA a great deal of experience in arts and cultural leadership, and governance, both in arts board work and on other boards, such as at universities and in wider non-profits.
Marc has received a number of awards and recognition throughout his career which provide evidence of his teaching capacity, engagement with community, grants and other incomes, delivery of high-quality teaching programmes and mentoring of staff and students.
