Mark is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) with over 20 years’ experience in a range of business environments, including family practice, retail banking, international funds management (United Kingdom), corporate (Mercer) and employer (UniSuper) super schemes.
In 2017 Mark became the founder and Principal Adviser of Advice SA, an Adelaide-based financial planning business, specialising in retirement planning for members of defined benefit and constitutionally protected super schemes.

Mark Bastiaans is a Lecturer in Personal Finance and Risk Management & Insurance, within UniSA’s Business School’s School of Commerce and UniSA Online.
Mark is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) with over 20 years’ experience in a range of business environments, including family practice, retail banking, international funds management (United Kingdom), corporate (Mercer) and employer (UniSuper) super schemes.
In 2017 Mark became the founder and Principal Adviser of Advice SA, an Adelaide-based financial planning business, specialising in retirement planning for members of defined benefit and constitutionally protected super schemes.
In 2018, Mark commenced his Masters by Research at UniSA. His research is investigating the investment outcomes achieved by super fund members invested in the default ‘MySuper’ product.
Mark’s qualifications also include a Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance) from UniSA, Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning) from Kaplan Professional and a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Brokering) from AAMC Training Group.
Mark is member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and is a registered Tax (Financial) Adviser with the Tax Practitioners Board.
