Dr McEvoy is interested in management of musculoskeletal conditions using an evidence-based practice approach. She is mainly involved in undergraduate clinical education related to outpatient musculosleletal management and in training undergraduates in skills to work as an evidence based practitioner. Dr McEvoy teaches in the area of evidence based practice where students are engaged in undertaking a systematic review to produce best research evidence summaries related to clinical questions. She also works with students to translate these skills where the evidence from the clinical findings, best research evidence and patient evidence and circumstances, are brought together for clinical decision-making about a particular patient. Maureen seeks and provides opportinities for students to have a broad range of experiences to contribute and grow their skills and she enjoys working side-by-side with them in the community with local events such as Head of the River, Aborigional Port Power Cup, Invictus, Homeless Expo. Teaching and engagement highlights were supervision experiences in northern India (2018) and Vietnam (2019), being amazed by our final year physiotherapy students skills in communicaton, teamwork, working outside their comfort zone as educators and leaders. The 2020 highlight, so far, is the response of our final years in the Univseetity clinic just prior to Covid 29 shutdown and the way they 'pulled together' for the patients and to lay the path for a rapid converson of services to telehealth.
