Dr Melissa Hewett

I have been teaching Microbiology at the University of South Australia since 2004. In the past I have worked as a research assistant on bacteria of oral health significance through the School of Dentistry at Adelaide University. My PhD was completed at the Australian Water Quality Centre, using molecular methods to identify and detect bacteria and amoebae in environmental samples. During my postgraduate studies I worked part-time as a food microbiologist, conducting routine microbiological tests on food samples.
