Mrs Melissa Philpot

Melissa Philpot is a South Australian-born and educated Medical Imaging Technologist. She graduated from the University of South Australia in 1993 and received the Kodak Award for finishing at the top of her graduating class.

Melissa has over 25 years of clinical experience in both the public and private sectors, working in both city and rural settings here in South Australia, as well as working as a solo radiographer in country Queensland.

A vast amount of her experience has been in trauma, bedside and operating theatre imaging within major hospitals. She has also worked as a sonographer, having particular interest in Obstetric and Neonatal imaging.

Melissa has always relished the opportunity to collaborate with other members of her profession, gaining and sharing knowledge whenever possible. This has included serving on professional committees, as well as running workshops and in-house training sessions. She has also enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside and mentor students all throughout her career and has held a role as a clinical supervisor.  

Melissa’s focus going forward is to expand her own knowledge, share that which she knows, keep current with changes in the industry and to help grow the profession seeking to make herself a true asset to an already strong team here at UniSA and to those whom she teaches.
