Dr Michelle Guerin (PhD, B.Physio) is a Lecturer at the University of South Australia within the Allied Health and Human Performance Academic Unit. Michelle has considerable experience as a qualitative researcher (primary and secondary research) and has successfully undertaken a range of research projects focussing on those members of society that are traditionally excluded from research, including people living with moderate to severe acquired and traumatic brain injuries, people with advanced dementia and those living in residential care.

Dr Guerin is an educator for various courses within the Allied Health and Human Performance Unit across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Dr Guerin currently is the course coordinator for - Advanced Physiotherapy Practice B (REHB 4050), Advanced Physiotherapy Practice - Acute and Rehabilitation (REHB 6019), Ethics and Communication (REHB 4034), and Physiotherapy Practice with Older Adults (REHB 2012). Dr Guerin’s student evaluation of teaching (SET) scores are consistently in the top quartile of university-wide scores.
As a result, Dr Guerin has been recognised by both students and peers with two recent awards in 2022. ‘Commendation for Sustained Excellence in Teaching Award’ and an ‘Allied Health and Human Performance Staff Recognition Award’.
