Professor Michelle Kelly joined UniSA in May 2022, from Curtin University. Michelle is an experienced academic with a background in critical care nursing, and formal qualifications in science, nursing and education. Expertise in contemporary healthcare simulation is evidenced in leading the implementation of simulation across health and science programs including designing bespoke spaces on six projects across 2 universities (UTS and Curtin). Expertise in contemporary healthcare simulation is evidenced in leading the implementation of simulation across health and science programs including designing bespoke spaces on six projects across 2 universities (UTS and Curtin). Michelle is currently the Chair of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) Research Committee. International collaborations in research and simulation scholarship extend to the USA, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, India, China, Norway, Sweden and New Zealand.
Michelle has received international recognition as a Fellow of the Academy of the SSH and nationally through 4 learning and teaching awards. Research areas include clinical judgement, cultural considerations, pain assessment and patient discharge conversations to enhance self-management. These experiences provide a solid basis for her role in overseeing quality of teaching and curricular support at UniSA in the CHS.
