Miriam is a Research Fellow and Clinical Psychologist. She completed her PhD at the University of Adelaide in 2016 and a Master of Clinical Psychology at Victoria University in 2017. Miriam has a particular interest in posttraumatic mental health and working with people from marginalised backgrounds. Specifically, her research and clinical expertise cover the fields of refugee & culturally and linguistically diverse communities, post-disaster (bushfire) mental health including work with rural communities, child and youth mental health, suicide prevention, and military and veteran mental health.

Miriam is experienced in conducting both qualitative and quantitative research with not-for-profit and government organisations with a focus on improving outcomes for communities through policy change and ultimately, knowledge translation. As such, her research is generally applied in nature, lending itself well to her being engaged in both clinical and academic worlds.
