Natalie’s is UniSA’s Specialist Counsellor in sexual assault and sexual harassment (SASH) as well as a generalist counsellor for students.
Natalie has a depth of experience in providing a trauma informed and client focused therapeutic approach to support students who have experienced domestic or family violence and abuse along the continuum of sexual harm.
Natalie is an experienced Social Worker who believes in social justice and the importance of human rights. Natalie graduated from UniSA in 2003 and has extensive experience working in the area of gender based violence with survivors of sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, and domestic and family violence and abuse. Natalie has worked within the Office for the Director of Public Prosecutions as Witness Assistance Officer, Yarrow Place Rape and Sexual Assault Service, Victim Support Service and for SA Health (community health).
Within Natalie’s therapeutic practice she offers client-centred support and practical strategies to assist students dealing with a wide range of mental health and personal issues including anxiety, panic, depression, high stress, loss/grief, trauma and relationship challenges. Natalie utilises an adaptive and eclectic range of approaches tailored to individual student needs to achieve best possible outcomes, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness techniques, Narrative Therapy, self compassion, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and solution focused approaches, utilising individual’s strengths and assisting students to build resilience.
In her spare time, she enjoys getting out into nature with her family, keeping up with current affairs and reading non fiction.
Natalie is available for appointments on Tuesday to Friday each week.
