Dr. Polladach (Poll) Theerapappisit had worked at the School of Social Sciences and Psychology, Western Sydney University as a tenured lecturer for 12 years from 2001 to 2013. Since August 2013, he has worked as a casual academic staff with the University of South Australia (UniSA) at the School of Management and the School of Natural and Built Environments. Dr. Polladach (Poll) Theerapappisit had worked at the School of Social Sciences and Psychology, Western Sydney University as a tenured lecturer for 12 years from 2001 to 2013. Since August 2013, he has worked as a casual academic staff with the University of South Australia (UniSA) at the School of Management and the School of Natural and Built Environments. With his B.Arch. (hons), he had a wide range of practice over 10 years in architectural design, landscape and urban design as well as real estate and project management With the King’s Scholarships from Asian Institute of Technology (1994-1995) in Thailand, his postgraduate studies were in Urban Development Planning and Environmental Management. He completed his Ph.D. studies in regional planning and tourism studies in 2008, with scholarships from the UK Government and the University of Melbourne. He has published several refereed papers in the multi-disciplinary research areas linking community-based tourism planning, cultural studies and ethics in tourism development in less-developed countries. His teaching subjects are varying from tourism subjects such as Understanding Travel and Tourism, Tourism Policy and Planning, Cultural/Indigenous Tourism, Destination Management, Hospitality and Services to the subjects in Social Sciences; e.g. Development and Peace Studies; Global Structures: Local Cultures and Ethics in Social Sciences. Dr. Poll can teach multi-disciplinary courses due to his diverse professional learning practices ranging from architectural design, urban planning, resource/project management to cultural heritage and tourism studies. He has taught in a number of universities in Australia, Hong Kong and Thailand since 1998.
