In July 2021, Quin was appointed as Boardmember on the South Australian Multicultural Commission (SAMC). Here, she will work with all levels of government through the Minister to contribute towards the planning, leadership and active engagement of intercultural community initiatives to determine the needs and aspirations of South Australia's diverse communities.
On 2nd December 2021, Quin was appointed as Member of the Multicultural Education and Languages Committee (MELC). Here, she will give advice on three interrelated areas of education: languages education, multicultural education and the internationalisation of education.
Quin has over 25 years combined industry experience in the financial services sector and academia. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Graduate Diploma in Marketing, Master of Marketing, and has completed postgraduate studies in Education (Digital Learning).
In her role as Lecturer/Course Coordinator, Quin adopts a student-centric teaching style to add value to students' learning experiences to prepare them for their business careers. For consecutive years from 2010 to 2021, she has been nominated for Teaching and Learning Excellence Awards at UniSA Business School. She was formally recognised for her commitment to high quality teaching and student engagement as Recipient of the UniSA Business School Teaching and Learning Awards in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2021.
Quin won the 2018 Ethnic Schools Primary Teacher of the Year Award presented by the Minister for Education. The award recognises Quin's 22-year engagement as a volunteer Community School Teacher. In 2019, Quin was appointed Principal of the Vietnamese Community School in South Australia, where she leads a team of 15 Maths Teachers and 30 Vietnamese Teachers to preserve Vietnamese language and culture.
Quin has co-authored a paper and poster about team-based learning in a marketing simulation course. She has presented nationally and internationally, at the Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy Conference (2016 and 2022) and Higher Education Research Conference (2016 and 2022).
