My research journey is driven by a genuine passion to improve the psychological health of Australian and international workers, particularly via policy level approaches that can influence broad stakeholder action. I am an adaptive and ‘outward-facing’ academic and work across disciplines of psychology, public health and law/regulation. My expertise lies in qualitative research and public policy analysis, yet I work with quantitative researchers, and together, we provide clear and meaningful recommendations to policy and practice for improved work-related psychological health and reduced injury.
I am currently working on two long-term projects. The first project is a four-year (2019 - 2023) research project funded by an Australian Research Council grant (DP190100853) that explores digital communication and work stress in Australian universities. The second is a five-year project (2020 – 2015) at the Psychosocial Safety Climate Global Observatory (PSC-GO) called ‘Mind the Worker: Transformative Change for a Human-Centered Corporate Climate’ led by distinguished Australian Research Council Kathleen Fitzpatrick Laureate Professor Maureen Dollard. PSC-GO is a world-first research platform for managing national and international research on workplace psychosocial safety.
