During her time at UniSA, she has worked within UniSA Creative, delivering analytical and practical courses relating to social media, digital design and communications at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, and has delivered foundation courses at UniSA College with a focus on information skills and digital literacy. Rebecca also has more than a decade of military experience, and is passionate about supporting Veterans in Higher Education, whether they are pursuing higher education as part of their career development or as part of their transition out of Defence. Her role as an Education Officer in the Army Reserves sees her support the development of instructors, training materials and curriculum, as well support quality assurance processes.
Rebecca's research focusses on the undergraduate student experience and student success in higher education. She is involved in projects exploring the impact of flexible assessment deadlines on the online student experience; the impact of personalised OnTask feedback emails on on-campus students; and the predictors of success in an online course (analysing LMS data). Other passion projects include exploring ChatGPT and other Generative-AI tools as a means of enhancing student learning, and working to support efforts to "decolonise" the curriculum.
