Robyn is a registered nurse academic working within the UniSA Clinical and health Sciences Academic Unit at Whyalla Campus.
Since completing her Bachelor of Nursing at UniSA in 1997, Robyn has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science (Cardiac). Robyn has practised both Internationally and throughout Australia in leadership roles and in a diverse range of settings, including; intensive care, cardiothoracic intensive care, cardiac cathlab, clinical education, and remote area nursing. Robyn is passionate about mentoring and fostering the growth of junior staff and student nurses in order to continue to enhance the nursing profession.

Robyn has recently completed a Bachelor of Veterinary and Wildlife Science degree through Federation University, and is developing research utilising the knowledge and skills gained, to further inform nursing practice.

After completing her Bachelor degree, Robyn worked throughout the United Kingdom for three years in Emergency, Intensive Care and High Dependency, Recovery, General Medical and Surgical wards. Upon her return to Australia, Robyn completed her Post Graduate Diploma, whilst working in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. Since then, Robyn has experience working as a Clinical Education Consultant: Cardiac Services, Clinical Nurse Specialist: Cardiovascular Investigation Unit, and Primary Health Care Nurse (Remote locations throughout northern Australia).

Robyn is both a course coordinator and associate course coordinator alongside her teaching into the under-graduate nursing program. Her teaching interests include acute nursing practice, rural and remote health, First people's health, and aged care, with a focus on primary healthcare and person-centred care principles. Since 2022, a teaching highlight has been coordinating a clinical placement course, where students undertake their first clinical nursing experience on their journey to becoming a registered nurse. In 2023, Robyn contributed to the course development, writing and assessment for the Health of Older People (NURS 1073) course, and consulted the re-development of the Experiential learning Activity clinical placement courses.
