About me

Mr Rodney Pratt

Rodney Pratt is a Mechatronic Engineer at the Future Industries Institute (University of South Australia), working as part of the Thin Film Coatings Group. The group is focused on the commercial application of coating technology with a particular focus on plastic substrates.

Rodney brings 25+ years of direct industry experience in the manufacturing and R&D domains to provide expertise in equipment design to support research activities within the group. Rodney's background includes the design of vacuum based coating systems for sputter deposition of specialty coatings. He is also well experienced in the design of testing equipment and methods for the evaluation of coating optical and durability performance.
