Dr Ronald Donato is a Senior Lecturer in Economics in the School of Commerce at the UniSA Business School. Currently, Ron is the curriculum leader in the business program Bachelor Business (Economics, Finance and Trade) and is responsible for curriculum development, economics learning standards, and student learning outcomes of the program.

About me
Dr Ronald Donato is a Senior Lecturer in Economics in the School of Commerce at the UniSA Business School. Currently, Ron is the curriculum leader in the business program Bachelor Business (Economics, Finance and Trade) and is responsible for curriculum development, economics learning standards, and student learning outcomes of the program.
Dr Donato’s research has focused in the area of health economics – mainly in the context of health system reform. His research work has included the political economy of health reform; the economics of contracting in health care; the role of private sector and competition in health care; and the role single fundholding and managed competition in improving health system performance in the Australian context. He also engaged in research on primary health care reform and on indigenous health. His most recent research activity centres on the economics of nutrition and obesity in developing countries.
Dr Donato’s research has been published in numerous international peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and a range of other reports and papers. He has also presented at the Productivity Commission, undertaken consultancy work and prepared policy reports for various government and non-government agencies.
