About me
Rosie's research focuses on issues of equity, diversity and belonging within three contexts (i.e., migrant communities; regional communities; and the creative industries). She is the author of 'Ongoing Mobility Trajectories: Lived Experiences of Global Migration' (Springer 2019) and co-editor of 'Rethinking privilege and social mobility in middle-class migration: Migrants ‘in-between’ (Routledge 2021, forthcoming). Both projects examine how relatively privileged migrant groups negotiate their life trajectories, relationships and aspirations while on the move, considering motives for migration, as well as experiences of risk, uncertainty and insecurity.
With colleague Dr Sam Whiting, she is currently co-leading a project in partnership with the Music Development Office to provide a status update of live original music venues in South Australia and to scope the challenges and opportunities for designing policy initiatives to support and develop regional touring networks. She is also collaborating with members of NERCW to explore the context of regional music festivals as targeted community designed/delivered suicide prevention strategies.
