Sally Ashton has taught courses in creative writing, professional communication, and screenwriting at UniSA since 2012. Her current research is the use of creative non-fiction to explore stories that examine the participation and experiences of women in the South Australian Country Fire Service.
Prior to UniSA, Sally worked in broadcasting, education, and as a freelance writer. A natural inclination for comedy has seen her channel drunk bartenders, dogs, and the Pina Colada Song in her many and varied literary adventures.
Sally is yet to win any awards for her writing but has been short-listed on a couple of occasions and remains optimistic that her time will come. She also likes dogs and will likely talk about them in class. She... Read more
