About me
I am an Online Course Facilitator and Online tutor in GLAM subjects that form part of the Bachelor of Digital Media at UniSA Online. The subjects I teach are: Introduction to the GLAM sector, Archives in the Digital World, Innovative Curatorial Studies and Narrating Art, Objects and Archives.
In my day job I work in exhibition management at the National Portrait Gallery of Australia in Canberra. I have a variety of experience in the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) sector.
Before working in the cultural sector, I had a career in corporate regulation and litigation. After deciding I wanted to work in a more creative sector, I embarked on a career change and completed a Masters in Art History and Curatorial Studies (Advanced) at the Australian National University. I worked for a number of years as a curator in visual arts and social history at Canberra Museum and Gallery. I have worked in Governance and Legal at the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia. I also managed the Cultural Gifts Program and the Register of Cultural Organisations at the Department of Communications and the Arts. I have even worked in visitor services at the National Museum of Australia.
I am an experienced board member in not-for-profits. I am on the ACT Branch Committee of the Australian Museums and Galleries Association which is the peak advocacy body representing the museums and galleries sector and a director of Arts Capital which manages the Ainslie and Gorman House arts centres in Canberra.
I'm passionate about the GLAM sector and its importance to our cultural life.
