Her current research projects focus on identifying and mitigating barriers to Space Startups and SMEs to participate in the high technology global defence supply ecosystems and around gender issues in male-dominated sectors. A/Prof Shruti Sardeshmukh is the executive co-director of the Centre for Enterprise Dynamics in Global Economies (C-EDGE). Her research revolves around people aspect of innovation and entrepreneurship in small and large organisations.
Her current research projects focus on identifying and mitigating barriers to Space Startups and SMEs to participate in the high technology global defence supply ecosystems and around gender issues in male-dominated sectors. Shruti has collaborated internationally with researchers from the US, Australia and India. Her research has been published in Organizational Research Methods, Academy of Management Learning and Education, Human Resource Management, and Journal of Small Business Management. She is a member of the Academy of Management ENT, RM, and HR divisions. She also serves on the editorial review board of Family Business Review (A) and The International Journal of Human Resource Management (A).
Shruti was born and raised in Mumbai, India. After doing an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (India), she worked in India, and later, during the dot com era in IT start-ups, in the USA. She then went on to complete her PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the USA. She worked as an Assistant Professor (equivalent to a lecturer in Australian universities) at the Ball State University’s (Indiana, USA) Entrepreneurship Department.
