Ms Sophie Murray

I am a proud Dieri and Arabana woman living and working on Kaurna Yarta. I have completed a Bachelor of Business (Sport and Recreation Management) and a Graduate Diploma of Aboriginal Studies with the University of South Australia (UniSA) and currently I am undertaking a Master of Indigenous Business Leadership with Monash University.

I began working with UniSA in 2015 as an Aboriginal Student Engagement Officer within the David Unaipon College of Indigenous Education and Research (DUCIER) and continued in this position with Wirringka Student Services. During my time at UniSA, I have also worked to provide supplementary academic support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students as Coordinator: Aboriginal Tutorial Program. In these roles, I have gained a deep understanding of the issues impacting on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and communities, as well as the strength and resilience of our peoples. In my current role as Partner Engagement Manager: Aboriginal Research, I look forward to working with community to identify areas of need, and seeing how our ways of Being, Knowing and Doing will be celebrated and embedded in this work.
