About me
Dr. Souha Youssef holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Analysis (2017) from Cairo University. Her Master’s thesis focused on resolving and analyzing complex mixtures using advanced analytical techniques. With over 13 years of academic experience, she began her career as a teaching assistant and was later promoted to assistant lecturer at the University of Modern Sciences & Arts (MSA) in Egypt, where she supervised and taught pharmacy students across all levels.
In 2023, Dr. Youssef completed her PhD at the University of South Australia under the supervision of Professor Sanjay Garg in the Pharmaceutical Innovation & Development Group (PIDG). Her doctoral research centred on developing targeted drug delivery systems using 3D printing for liver cancer treatment. With expertise in formulation science and green analytical chemistry, she adopts an interdisciplinary approach to promote more environmentally sustainable pharmaceutical practices. Notably, her work led to the development of iGAPP, a pioneering tool to assess the environmental impact of pharmaceutical fabrication via 3D printing, with the aim of reducing energy consumption, waste, and hazardous solvent use.
Since completing her PhD, Dr. Youssef has worked as a research associate on projects involving novel formulation development, stability studies, and advanced drug delivery systems. She is currently a Lecturer in Chemistry in the School of Clinical and Health Sciences at UniSA, where she teaches undergraduate courses in chemistry, drug development, and dosage form desig
