About me
Souha has a Bachelor degree in Pharmacy from Cairo University. She received her Master’s degree in pharmaceutical analysis in 2017 from Cairo University. Her thesis focused on resolution and analysis of complex mixtures using various analytical techniques. She worked as a teaching assistant then promoted to an assistant lecturer at the University of Modern Sciences & Arts in Egypt, she has a combined experience in academia of 13 years where she supervised and taught pharmacy students of all levels.
She joined UniSA for a PhD in 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Sanjay Garg in the pharmaceutical innovation & development group (PIDG) . Her research focuses on the development of targetted drug delivery systems using 3D printers for the treatment of liver cancer. With experience in both formulation science and green analytical chemistry, she follows an interdisciplinary approach in her work, attempting to develop more environment friendly pharmaceutical practices. Interstingly, her work resulted, for the first time, in the development of a tool (iGAPP) to determine the environmental impact of fabricating pharmaceuticals using 3D printing technology. The tool could contribute to minimizing energy consumption, waste and hazardous solvents where possible.
Besides Souha's role as a research assistant in PIDG, she has filled some teaching positions in the school of clinical health sciences for undergraduate courses including chemistry, drug development and dosage form design.
