About me
Dr. Souha Youssef holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy followed by a Master's degree in pharmaceutical analysis in 2017 from Cairo University. Her Master's thesis focused on resolving and analyzing complex mixtures using various analytical techniques. With a combined experience of 13 years in academia, Souha has served as a teaching assistant and was later promoted to an assistant lecturer at the University of Modern Sciences & Arts in Egypt, where she supervised and taught pharmacy students of all levels.
In 2023, Souha completed her PhD at UniSA under the supervision of Prof. Sanjay Garg in the Pharmaceutical Innovation & Development Group (PIDG). Her research primarily focused on developing targeted drug delivery systems using 3D printers for the treatment of liver cancer. With expertise in formulation science and green analytical chemistry, Souha adopts an interdisciplinary approach, striving to develop more environmentally friendly pharmaceutical practices. Notably, her research resulted in the development of a pioneering tool called iGAPP, which assesses the environmental impact of fabricating pharmaceuticals using 3D printing technology, aiming to minimize energy consumption, waste, and hazardous solvents.
In addition to her role as a research assistant in PIDG, Souha has held teaching positions in the School of Clinical Health Sciences, instructing undergraduate courses in chemistry, drug development, and dosage form design.
