About me
Tristan is a recent addition to the college joining the team in 2015. Tristan has a strong background in health sciences, with a particular focus in human health and more specifically human physiology. Previously Tristan has both lectured and coordinated health courses at the school of PMB (neuroscience, pharmacology and diagnostics for midwives and scientific basis for clinical practice). During this time Tristan has been completing his PhD in Medical Sciences where he has concentrated on managing the bony side effects of chemotherapy in cancer patients. Whilst he is still passionate about research in the health sciences, he has become an advocate for pathway programs and education in enabling and equity. With this in mind, Tristan is keen to evaluate and improve the transition of these students into Health Science and also more broadly into STEM.
As the college has continued to expand since its inception, it has become clear that there is a large proportion of students keen on pathways into health related programs (nursing, human movement, physiotherapy etc) and concurrently there has been a parallel demand for increased background teaching into these areas from both the students, as well as teaching staff at the undergraduate level. To facilitate this Tristan has recently introduced a new course at the college ‘Introduction to Anatomy’ (SP2 2016).
