She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Master of Arts (MA) in Economics from the University of Mumbai, a PhD in Economics from UniSA, a graduate diploma in digital learning from UniSA and a graduate diploma in financial planning from KAPLAN Professionals.

Dr Vandana Arya is a Senior lecturer (Economics) at the University of South Australia Business unit and Online course facilitator (Financial Planning) at UniSA online. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Master of Arts (MA) in Economics from the University of Mumbai, a PhD in Economics from UniSA, a graduate diploma in digital learning from UniSA and a graduate diploma in financial planning from KAPLAN Professionals.
Dr Arya's research focuses on international economics in the context of capital flows and their implications on economic growth. She has analysed factors such as financial liberalisation, institutional quality, capital flows, crises and thresholds in understanding the dynamic behaviour of capital flows and their effect on growth and productivity. She has presented her findings at national and international conferences. As a member of vibrant team, she has received multiple internal research grants under EASS URIPA funding scheme. She is also an executive member of Women in Economics Network and Financial Planning Association.
Dr Arya has a passion for teaching and lectures broad range of courses in economics and financial planning at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
