About me
Dr. Will Mackay is Lecturer in Accounting, course coordinator for the Commerce Practicum in the Commerce Program and a member of Markets, Values and Inclusion within UniSA Business. He is a Visiting Professor at University Nice Sophia Antipolis (France). Previously he has held positions as Associate Lecturer in Accounting with the Business School of the University of Adelaide and Visiting Professor at University of Rome Tor Verga (Italy).
Will's current industry linked research projects include: accounting for water in forestry; and financing the space and defence sectors in South Australia. His teaching focussed research explores work interegrated learning within Business programs. Past research has focused on executive compensation in listed mining companies and the role of independent directors on the board. He has examined the impact of various forms of equity based compensation and corporate governance regulations in shaping management behavior. His teaching interests include corporate governance, financial reporting, strategic financial analysis and risk management. His research has received external and internal university grant funding including from the Accounting Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ), The Department of Premier and Cabinet and the National Australia Bank.
He has provided professional services in management consultancy within the regulated energy sector, manufacturing sector and to various not for profit organisations. These services have included: the appraisal of cost of equity methods used by the Australian Energy Regulator; due diligence engagements; corporate restructures; and reviews of financial reports.
Will’s is the Chairman of the SA/NT Chapter of ACEN (Australian Collaborative Education Network). Past community engagement includes serving as the chairman for the Baker Governance Council and treasurer for West Lakes and Districts Little Athletics Association.
