About me
Yasamin is currently a PhD candidate within UniSA Allied Health & Human Performance at the University of South Australia. She is also a registered nurse with a Bacheor of nursing (2015) followed by Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) degrees (2017). Yasamin has also studied various disciplines of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (Adv. Dip. Naturopathy, Adv. Dip. Western Herbal Medicine and Adv. Dip. Diet Therapies, Dip. Remedial Massage).
Yasamin’s PhD research topic is about gaining an understanding of the barriers and enablers to the conduct and application of research among complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) professions in Australiaand New Zealand. Her experience as a registered nurse led her to become interested in the importance of clinical evidence in practice. Having interest in evidence-based practice and Public Health, she wanted to investigate, the lack of a substantial body of research in the area of CAM.
Yasamin's research experience spans across qualitative, quantitative (cross-sectional surveys, delphi studies, nominal group technique) and secondary (systematic reviews & scoping reviews) research. She is on the suervisory team of a Master's student as an industry advisor. She also tutors HLTH 1049 Introduction to Evidence Based Practice and Research within UniSA Allied Health & Human Performance and is currently a research assistant for UniSA Education Futures.
