UniSA has a proud history of preparing graduates for professional practice. One of our main commitments is to help produce career-ready graduates. Work Integrated Learning (WIL) integrates academic learning and research activity with its application in the workplace and industry and is a fundamental component in Business Programs. Business Internship Courses, as key WIL activities, provide business students opportunities for work experience and course credit. Dr. Zhifang Wu has been performing as the leading/primary Course Coordinator for all Business Internship Courses since their inception in 2018.
UniSA Business offers traditional on-site Business Internship Courses and virtual industry internship courses for students. Zhifang, closely working with the Business Internship team, engages with a wide range of organisations to develop placement opportunities that enable our students to apply their skills, bring fresh perspectives and knowledge to the workplace, develop an understanding of what it is like to work in their chosen discipline, and gain valuable experience for their post-graduation employment. They jointly utilise an innovative and scalable approach to connecting students with industry partners, with structured career preparedness activities, to complement core internship delivery. Zhifang has showcased the teaching innovation to the ACEN (Australian Collaborative Education Network) conference 2022 and delivered an oral presentation ‘Bringing Industry to the Student – An Innovative and Scalable Approach to Enhancing Employability Outcomes’ (co-authored by Daryl McMahon, Partner Engagement Manager: Internships, UniSA Business).
