I previously held the Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery role for 10 years at the Women’s and Children’s Health Network and other senior nursing and midwifery positions in the areas of clinical, management, education and research in both the public and private sectors. My academic qualifications include Diploma of Applied Science (Nursing) Bachelor of Nursing, Midwifery Certificate, Master of Educational Management and Doctor of Philosophy.
My research interests include woman-centred care and person-centred care, consumer voice and experience, models of care, professional scope of practice and advanced practice roles, leadership, workforce and service development and evaluation. I enjoy collaborative research and skilled in a range of qualitative methodologies.
Member of the South Australian Practice Development Network and I follow the Practice Development philosophy and ways of working.
I am involved in leading, and contributing to, decision making for midwifery at a Local Health Network, State and National level. My philosophy is to foster a culture of excellence in midwifery person-centred practice grounded in research evidence, critical inquiry, teamwork and innovation.
I am committed to reconciliation, anti-racism and the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal peoples.
