Mohammed Hamidul Haque received the BSc and MSc degrees in EE from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1980 and 1983, respectively, and the PhD degree in EE from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1988.
During 1980–1983, he was with the Department of EEE, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology as Lecturer. During 1980–1983, he was with the Department of EEE, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology as Lecturer. In 1984, he joined the Department of EE, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, as Lecturer, and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 1989 and Associate Professor in 1993. During 1995–1997, he was with the School of EE, University of South Australia, as Senior Lecturer. During 1998–2009, he was with the School of EEE, Nanyang Technological University, as Associate Professor. Since 2011, he has been with the University of South Australia.
Dr. Haque’s main teaching/research expertise is in the areas of electrical power and energy systems including renewable energy systems and electrical machines. He has published more than 160 referred journal/conference papers and a textbook on electrical machines. His publications have been cited more than 4,000 times worldwide. He established the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Chapter in South Australia in 2013 and served the Chapter as Chair for three years.
Dr. Haque received the IEEE PES Outstanding Engineer Award in 2019. He is a Life Senior Member of IEEE, Chartered Professional Engineer (retired) of Engineers Australia, and Fellow of Engineers Australia.
