About me
Quin Tran is a Lecturer/Course Coordinator at UniSA Business and UniSA Online. In the area of business and marketing education, Quin manages and coordinates a diverse range of marketing courses. She has a strong interest in teaching and learning pedagogies about groupwork and teamwork, to build high performing teams and strong communities.
On 2nd December 2021, Quin was appointed as Boardmember of the Multicultural Education and Languages Committee (MELC). Here, she will give advice on three interrelated areas of education: languages education, multicultural education and the internationalisation of education.
On 1st July 2021, Quin was appointed as Boardmember to the South Australian Multicultural Affairs Commission (SAMAC). Here, she will work with all levels of government through the Minister to contribute towards the planning, leadership and active engagement of intercultural community iniatives to determine the needs and aspirations of South Australia's diverse communities.
Quin has over 25 years combined industry experience in the financial services sector and academia. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Graduate Diploma in Marketing, Master of Marketing, and is currently undertaking postgraduate studies in Education (Digital Learning).
In her role as Lecturer/Course Coordinator, Quin adopts a student-centric teaching style to add value to students' learning experiences to prepare them for their business careers. For consecutive years from 2010 to 2021, she has been nominated for Teaching and Learning Excellence Awards at UniSA Business School. She was formally recognised for her commitment to high quality teaching and student engagement as Recipient of the UniSA Business School Teaching and Learning Awards in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2021.
Quin won the 2018 Ethnic Schools Primary Teacher of the Year Award presented by the Minister for Education. The award recognises Quin's 22-year engagement as a volunteer Community School Teacher where she has developed a portfolio of teaching resources to present in bilingual languages to connect language and culture to different audiences in both the Australian and Vietnamese Communities.
In 2019, Quin was appointed Principal of the Vietnamese Community School in South Australia, where she leads a team of 15 Maths Teachers and 30 Vietnamese Teachers to preserve Vietnamese language and culture. She aims to deliver sustainable organisational growth for the School through a reputable brand and make it well known for quality Teaching and Learning.
Quin has co-authored a paper about television network loyalty and presented nationally (2009) and internationally (2016), at the Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy Conference (ANZMAC). A paper and poster she co-authored about student learning contracts in a team-based marketing simulation course was accepted into the Higher Education Research Conference (2016) and ANZMAC (2016).
