About me
Rick Fabretto received his honours degree in physics from Flinders University in 1988, after which he spent 10 years in private industry as an instrumentation physicist for a large multinational associated with the mining sector. He worked on numerous international projects involving companies in Australia, India, Africa, and South America. In 2004 he received his PhD (minerals and materials) from the Ian Wark Research Institute at the University of South Australia. He joined UniSA in 2004 and is currently a Research Fellow within the Future Industries Institute working in the Energy and Advanced Manufacturing strand with a special interest in inherently conducting and electroactive polymers, and thin film deposition, for use in electrochromic and energy related devices. The work focuses on both fundamental issues connected with polymer synthesis, structure and performance, as well as maintaining a strong applied interest which is conducive with the needs of commercialisation within the private sector. His work has resulted in the filing of 3 PCT patent applications and numerous publications since joining UniSA.
