Ryan also serves on the editorial (review/advisory) board of Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Business Research, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, and Review of International Business Strategy. He also works as an ad hoc reviewer of Journal of World Business, Journal of Management Studies, International Business Review, Journal of International Management, Management International Review, and Journal of International Marketing, among others. He was awarded the Best Reviewer Award for the AoM IM Division 2019 and 2020, and the Outstanding Reviewer in the 2020 Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence. Besides, Ryan has successfully led multiple research projects funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australian Government.
Ryan has profound experience in teaching various courses such as International Business Environments, Cross-Cultural Management, Global Business Environment, Research Methods, and Strategy at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His teaching excellence is recognized as Teaching Commendation by UniSA Business. Ryan has also successfully supervised doctoral students, who now hold academic positions in international universities.
Before joining UniSA, Ryan held a lectureship at University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where his PhD degree was conferred in the same period. In addition to UTS, he studied at Peking University and Northwestern University, among others.
