About me
Kate Rhodes has three qualifications in Nursing: as a Developemental Educator, a Registered General Nurse, and as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. She has 27 years experience working in various mental health teams and at a number of nursing levels. Until April 2018, Kate was working in an adult community mental health setting encompassing a number of integrated roles, Kate provided direct consumer clinical coordination, emergency mental health assessments, and supportive nursing care to consumers and their families. Kate has prior experience working with adults in acute and rehabilitation inpatient mental health units, in addition to providing case management to homeless youth with mental health problems within an adolescent community team. Kate undertook her Bachelor of Psychology at UniSA whilst working part-time as a nurse, graduating in 2010.
Kate worked as a tutor in 'Health Psychology' in 2015 within the School of Social Health Sciences at Flinders University after completing a first class honours degree in psychology (2011). She was also involved in 'Research Methods' in the Master of Public Health program in 2015, and was the Course Coordinator for 'Undertaking Translational Research in Cancer Prevention' in the Master of Public Health program in 2017.
